Two layers, one plan
- AvePoint for Microsoft 365. Cloud backup for Exchange Online mailboxes, OneDrive, SharePoint document libraries, and Teams content - protecting data Microsoft does not natively retain long-term. Microsoft 365's default retention is not a backup; AvePoint is.
- Datto BCDR for on-premises servers. Image-level backup and business continuity for on-prem servers, including the kind of "file server with a lot of shared drives" most small businesses still run. Local recovery on the appliance and cloud replication for offsite protection.
How we manage it
- Daily monitoring of supported Microsoft, Datto, and AvePoint backups.
- Backup alerts and failures are reviewed and addressed promptly through the PC Portal service desk.
- Routine data restoration assistance is included in your managed services agreement.
- Large-scale restorations or full disaster-recovery events may be handled as separate projects, with scope and pricing agreed up front.
- Periodic recovery testing on agreed-upon datasets so the day you need a restore is not the day you find out the backup didn't run.
What we will tell you that other vendors won't
If your most important data lives in QuickBooks Online, in a SaaS practice management app, or in a vendor-hosted database, your backup is whatever that vendor offers - not what we run in our office. We will tell you that plainly, help you read the vendor's own backup terms, and coordinate independent backups where it makes sense.
